These AllaFrance thermometers are manufactured using a yellow sodo-line glass stem, filled with Red Liquid (mercury free), with a diameter of about 6-7 mm. The colour of the glass makes for easier reading of the liquid column.
The thermometers have an expansion chamber to prevent the build-up of pressure if the maximum temperature is exceeded and the liquid rises past the top of the scale.
Clear scale, sharp graduation lines are printed and permanently fused to the glass surface, making them resistant to all chemicals except hydrofluoric acid and, to a lesser extent, hot caustic soda, because both corrode glass.
Available in partial or total immersion. If the thermometer is calibrated for partial immersion there is a line printed around the thermometer at 76 mm with a clear mention “Imm.76 mm” to immerse the thermometer to the correct depth.
Delivered with a special hook that can be clipped on the glass, specially designed and patented by ALLA FRANCE (not supplied for thermometers with diameter greater than 7 mm).
Each item is supplied with a Certificate of Precision, and packed in telescopic square tubes of sturdy recyclable plastic, that are ideal for storage.
